Learning Format Comparison Study
~5–10 minutes · Anonymous · Voluntary
What is this study?
You are being asked to participate in a short research study about how people learn STEM concepts (math, physics, chemistry). The goal is to compare four different ways of presenting the same idea so we can understand which formats are most engaging and most effective for learners.
What you will do
You will choose one short topic. You'll then experience four different learning formats covering that topic - a written explanation, an interactive simulation, a quick-quiz game, and a tap-through lesson. After each format you will rate your experience (~30 seconds). At the end you'll rank the four formats. Total time: about 5–10 minutes.
Your privacy
We collect only your survey responses, time spent on each format, and the demographic answers you choose to provide. We do not collect your name, email, IP address, or any identifying information unless you explicitly opt in to a follow-up at the end. Your responses are stored anonymously, identified only by a randomly-generated session ID.
Voluntary participation
Participation is entirely voluntary. You may close this page at any time without penalty; your partial responses up to that point will be retained for analysis but you can request deletion by contacting us with your session ID (visible on the final screen).
Risks & benefits
There are no anticipated risks beyond minor frustration with a new interface. There is no direct benefit to you, but your feedback helps us design better learning experiences. You will not be paid for participation.
